What version of Windows are you running at home, if you're on a Microsoft Operating System, Home, Professional, Ultimate? Ever notice that there are 32bit and 64bit versions too? Tom's Hardware asked the same question what is 32bit vs 64bits? It is an important one if you're going to spend 100$+ on a piece of software that is your base line for your computer, the Operating System. I am sure many people do not know the differences between 32bits and 64bits. There is a lot more than just that four gigabytes of RAM issue.
At home, I have four computers, one desktop, and three laptops. The desktop is my main computer, it is practically my server at home in the sense that all my files (music, movies, work) is stored on it, but I choose to not leave it on. I put Windows Vista Ultimate 64bits on that computer so I can use the full potential of my CPU and i have 4GB of RAM, so right there, 32bits couldn't cut it.
A quick google search gives many websites with comparisons, but so far, I like Tom's Hardware article. If you need more detail, here is a great article too.
