JR’s Dog Training – 514-631-7478

I've recently had to give up my dog Tyson because he was a little over protective and my family and friends were intimidated by him. My son will be born any day now, I know that everyone will want to come over, and dealing with a barking dog and the newborn baby - the new parents were scared that we will be overwhelmed with 'dealing' with the issues.  It was with great sadness we had Tyson re-adopted.  This is where JR's dog training's Joe Rosen came to the rescue for us.

HTPC Media Cases with Touch Screens

When building a HTPC, I find getting a nice looking case is always a problem!  It is hard to find something that looks good on paper, and in your TV stand.  I have built some HTPCs with Antec Cases, but I have always wanted to get my hands on a Moneual MonCaso case.  Just look at them, they look so impressive that you almost are afraid to touch it!

So it begins, my home theatre’s first purchase, a couch!

Today was the first purchase we did for our basement in the new house.  We went to about 6 stores and a lot of online shopping for a sofa set.  This is also the first step towards my home theatre room.  It was actually pretty hard to find a couch that fit our requirements, all we wanted was a sofa that had a high back so we can rest our heads when we watch TV sitting up.  Eventually, we found a set at Leons, a store I have never stepped into before!

Moving Day! From condo to house, and it begins January 17!

It has been a few days, weeks, ...ok ok, months since my last post.  A lot has happened since my last post, I got a promotion at work, we have adopted a 2 year old brown Doberman dog who needs training, I bought a house, and i also found out that I am going to be a father!  I haven't had time to work on the site as much as I had hoped.  Soon we are going to move from my condo, to the new house!

So first thing to do, move into my new home January 17, then the planning begins while the tear down of the walls and digging outside around my foundation commences.  For now, here's a picture of my baby:

Windows7 engadget review – how did I miss this review…

Windows 7 FishThis is a pretty comprehensive review of Windows7 from engadet here.  I like to read it, get other people's oppinions on it and see if I agree or disagree.  I suggest everyone do the same, after the sour taste people have from Vista, Windows7 is a welcome change from Microsoft's OS. Media Center in Windows 7 RTM early review

Windows7Ben Drawbaugh has posted an early review on EngadgetHD of the Windows 7 version of Media Center from the Released (or Ready) to Manufacture version 7600.  Of course, this can all be taken with a big grain of salt as Microsoft have said that the RTM versions will only come out in August.

There are no major changes from the Windows 7 Release Candidate that was give a little while back, but I am glad to see people are looking forward to a product from Microsoft!  I hope that it will include Blu-Ray features from PowerDVD, but I have yet to confirm if anyone got that part working or if it will even be included in Windows 7 out of the box. Good thing? or bad – Intel’s new i5 and socket 1156

socketi5Intel is going to release a new CPU and socket to compete in the mainstream market for chipsets and CPUs.  The new CPUs are officially called Core i5 and Core i3.  I am looking forward to these CPUs, and to see how the new P55 chipset will stack up against the p45 and the Core 2 Quad CPUs.  You can read the article on Anandtech here explaining the new names and features. Tom’s hardware HTPC with Windows 7 Media Center

amd_mauiChris Angelini at Tom's Hardware has posted a follow up article to his original HTPC post with a beta of Windows7.  His first post was popular with many questions that he created this article as a follow up.

Chris used AMD's Maui platfrom as his HTPC, this is some serious HTPC hardware, one of the first to truely be made for HTPC use, and not just a computer in a small case.  Look at some of the features it has!  SilentPCreview has a good review about it here, and you can always read Chris' first article for the HTPC, where he used the Maui.
