So it begins, my home theatre’s first purchase, a couch!

Today was the first purchase we did for our basement in the new house.  We went to about 6 stores and a lot of online shopping for a sofa set.  This is also the first step towards my home theatre room.  It was actually pretty hard to find a couch that fit our requirements, all we wanted [...]

Moving Day! From condo to house, and it begins January 17!

It has been a few days, weeks, …ok ok, months since my last post.  A lot has happened since my last post, I got a promotion at work, we have adopted a 2 year old brown Doberman dog who needs training, I bought a house, and i also found out that I am going to [...]

Windows7 engadget review – how did I miss this review…

This is a pretty comprehensive review of Windows7 from engadet here.  I like to read it, get other people’s oppinions on it and see if I agree or disagree.  I suggest everyone do the same, after the sour taste people have from Vista, Windows7 is a welcome change from Microsoft’s OS.

Media Center in Windows 7 RTM early review

Ben Drawbaugh has posted an early review on EngadgetHD of the Windows 7 version of Media Center from the Released (or Ready) to Manufacture version 7600.  Of course, this can all be taken with a big grain of salt as Microsoft have said that the RTM versions will only come out in August. There are no major changes from [...]

Good thing? or bad – Intel’s new i5 and socket 1156

Intel is going to release a new CPU and socket to compete in the mainstream market for chipsets and CPUs.  The new CPUs are officially called Core i5 and Core i3.  I am looking forward to these CPUs, and to see how the new P55 chipset will stack up against the p45 and the Core 2 [...]

Tom’s hardware HTPC with Windows 7 Media Center

Chris Angelini at Tom’s Hardware has posted a follow up article to his original HTPC post with a beta of Windows7.  His first post was popular with many questions that he created this article as a follow up. Chris used AMD’s Maui platfrom as his HTPC, this is some serious HTPC hardware, one of the [...]

Are you running a 64bit OS Media Center?

What version of Windows are you running at home, if you’re on a Microsoft Operating System, Home, Professional, Ultimate? Ever notice that there are 32bit and 64bit versions too?  Tom’s Hardware asked the same question what is 32bit vs 64bits? It is an important one if you’re going to spend 100$+ on a piece of software that [...]

How do you use your electronics if you want to hide them?

I have not gotten around to mounting my LCD on a wall yet, so my knowledge on what to do and suggestions on what to get to use all of the electronics is pretty limited at the moment.  Of course when I move into a house, that will all change when I build my home Theater room!

How do you power your Home Theater setup?

Every time I go to the Trade show in Montréal Salon Son & Image, I laugh at all of the setups, every single one.  In all of the rooms, I always look at how the systems are hooked up, and I always see the same thing, everyone uses expensive cables to power their amplifiers and other [...]

The Di Loreto Home Theater setup

I probably should of put this as one of the first posts, but that was then, this is now!  The picture you see in the header of the site is actually 110% original, taken by me, edited and posted there by me, and not from a google image search. It is the setup my father has [...]
