Honestly now Dolby, did the world really need another surround sound format? On top of that, it's not even a true successor to Dolby True-HD?! What gives.
Dolby has quietly introduced the new Dolby TThe main reason this has been released is to enables greater flexibility in expanding a 5.1 playback system to 7.1, or a 7.1 system to 9.1. More speakers is always a good thing for hearing the details in movies. If you notice in the picture, there are now 2 small speakers on above the front main speakers to help simulate a dropping sound (think of of comet falling).
