As a follow up to my post about EngadgetHD's Hands on comments of the Logitech PS3 Harmony Adaptor, they have released a full and detailed review.
There was one bit of news i was a little disappointed to read, the IR adaptor only works with the Harmony remotes. Now, logically, if a universal remote works with this adaptor, shouldn't the remote for said TV that the Harmony remote is programed to use also work on the IR adaptor? I wonder how long until someone makes a hack or if Logitech and Sony release an official update to make the adaptor a true universal IR interface with the PS3.
The main reason anyone would get this is to use a PS3 in their Home Theater room, but Sony decided to make the console communicate with remotes and controllers via Bluetooth. From the article, installation was a snap, just connect it with bluetooth, and you're practically off in a matter of minutes. It seems to be practically flawless, and works really smoothly, powering on and off the PS3 console and playing movies without a hitch.
I'm only worried about one thing. The price. 60$ USD, i find that a little pricy for a IR to Bluetooth reciever/adaptor, but it is the easiest and best, probably only solution to use a Harmony IR remote on a PS3 without assembly.
