How to calibrate your computer monitor or HDTV

Spider

Have you ever shopped for a monitor or TV? After hours of shopping, decided on a model and go see it at the store and the demo looks fantastic. Finally when you take it home, the colors are saturated, it's grainy and blurry. That's because all screens need to be calibrated, by default, most TVs are setup for the demo at the store. When looking at 10 40" LCDs, you naturally would go see the one with the best colors, not the one that's dark and setup to be used at your home.

The guys over at Hardware.fr have created a nice guide on how to calibrate your monitor to get the best colors possible for under 100 Euros (about 175$ CAD).

Here is the link to the original page, but it is in french.  You can read the english Google translated page here.
