I've recently had to give up my dog Tyson because he was a little over protective and my family and friends were intimidated by him. My son will be born any day now, I know that everyone will want to come over, and dealing with a barking dog and the newborn baby - the new parents were scared that we will be overwhelmed with 'dealing' with the issues. It was with great sadness we had Tyson re-adopted. This is where JR's dog training's Joe Rosen came to the rescue for us.

When we got Tyson, he was about 1 and a half years old, and a pure bread medium sized male Doberman. His tail was docked too short, and his ears were cut so short that they looked like human ears! We didn't know his history and could not find where he came from, but we have theories as to why someone would do such things to a beautiful dog.
We were scared that the Doberman's instincts would take over, so we needed training lessons. We were highly recommended JR's Dog Training in Montreal by a friend who had a two Doberman dogs. After a little search online, we found that JR is actually highly regarded, and even our vet recommended him to us. After completing his basic training classes, I will always go back to JR's Dog Training if we decide to get another dog.
After meeting Joe Rosen, aka JR, I admit, he is a little intense at first, but you should never judge a book by its cover. His methods are extremely effective. Your dog is your friend, you want to protect him, which is why you have to be his master and he will love you in return and follow you anywhere. After JR's basic training class Tyson was a great dog, he listened to us when we gave him a command and always came back when we called him. To be a master, you have to become his leader, and Joe is a leader when he trains your dog, he is firm, but kind. You know how wolves get a pack leader? They fight until the strongest one wins. Obviously a human should not fight with a dog, but making your presence felt must be done for your dog to respect you.
There are many methods to train your pet, but dogs are primal and they need consistent discipline. Being firm does not mean being abusive. Cesar Milan, known as the dog whisper, trains his dogs with choke chains, muzzles, and even shock collars. Police and Army dog trainers use sticks or batons to intimidate their dogs, heck, even Walt Disney used to throw a chain to a dog to startle him. Would you rather the dog run out the door as soon as you open it and run to the street and get hit by a car? or do you want him to wait for you to give him the "ok" to go outside? A Dog is an animal; you cannot just reason with it.
Joe was kind enough to adopt Tyson from us, it was a very sad day for us, but we know he will be in the best of hands.

Recently, there is a poster who is posting negative comments about Joe, and has even gone as far as to lie about what really happened to his dog. Please, do not judge JR's Training from this one person's naive opinion. The man has been training dogs for 30 years, and all of his customers can confirm he is great. I will not hesitate to go see JR's Dog Training.
We will miss you Tyson.
