MaxiumPC has posted a really detailed guide to setting up your Basic Input/Output System (BIOS). I will admit, I haven't realized how many features in my BIOS that is already disabled. For example, i have SATA2 drives, and i only recently enabled AHCI to activate all of the SATA2 features.
I have the Asus P5Q Deluxe motherboard, and i can tell you for a fact, the descriptions written in the BIOS on the right part of the screen are useless, might as well of not even put them. I used to work at a computer store for 3 years, i've seen all sorts of different BIOS interfaces, the Phoenix Award, the American Megatrends (pictured), and many custom ones from Dell, IBM, Compaq etc. They all do the same basic function, but none are well explained!
