Today was the first purchase we did for our basement in the new house. We went to about 6 stores and a lot of online shopping for a sofa set. This is also the first step towards my home theatre room. It was actually pretty hard to find a couch that fit our requirements, all we wanted was a sofa that had a high back so we can rest our heads when we watch TV sitting up. Eventually, we found a set at Leons, a store I have never stepped into before!
We had specific things we wanted, a high back, it had to be comfortable, and i wanted something I can build a home theater around, so the 2nd seat had to be smaller than a 3, so we got a 2 seater. We sat in many couches in stores, and I even saw some people get comfortable and lie down on the couches! I was tempted, but boots are a pain to take off! We looked at theatre style sofas but I can't lie down on them, but they were pretty cool, and very pricey! I also looked at some 65" LCD HDTVs, but i was shot down by the wife, oh well.
Next big purchase is actually not for the basement, but will be for the upstairs bathroom, but I will eventually post pictures of my demo work and reno work in the basement. There is a fireplace that needs to be repaired, i'm going to have to call a chimeny cleaner or inspecter, a wall I need to tear down and will re-insulate and a lot more stuff to come!
