Sony adds bitsreams Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA audio to the Playstation 3 Slim

I was chatting with a friend, and he just purchased his new PS3 Slim and he spent the weekend reading up on it, i was surprised to learn that the news Playstation model, the PS3 Slim and not the previous model now support HD audio – Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA – through Bitstream on HDMI!

Dolby introduces a new Surround Sound format

Honestly now Dolby, did the world really need another surround sound format? On top of that, it’s not even a true successor to Dolby True-HD?! What gives.
