The beginning of my home theatre setup

It has been a long time coming, almost one and a half months since my last post! Wow!   I have been busy at home with work in my Garage, i have a new central heating and cooling system installed, brand new 200amp electrical panel, and i was outside raking my lawn.  Who would of thought me getting a house with Severine would be so...fun!

In a previous post I wrote about the couches, now almost 4 months after the move, we have  purchased a 2nd TV for the basement that will effectively become the media/theatre room.  I had a very strict budget for buying a TV.  Of course, i wanted many features, but we need to save up for the new baby coming.  I purchased the Sony 40ex500 40" LCD tv.  I have already a Sony 40W3000 tv, and three years later, the image is still comparable to today's best TVs, so I basically wanted an evolution of it.  The new Sony ex500 series is not Sony's top of the line model, and it is not LED backlight, but the colors are beautiful, and the blacks are deep and rich.  I was realistic in my shopping, I wanted some basic features: 120hz for when I watch Sports and play PS3 games, it had to be 1080p, and EnergyStar.  Anything else was a bonus!  The TV was for sale at 1200$, but my budget was 1000$, tax in.  I searched for 3 weeks, and I was patient when shopping for the TV.  I saw many specials come and go, and i was actually looking at 46" tvs but with 60hz only, until I saw this TV on sale with a 250$ rebate!

My son will be born in about 2 weeks, and family will come visit, so it's crunch time to get the rest of the house finished!
