I probably should of put this as one of the first posts, but that was then, this is now! The picture you see in the header of the site is actually 110% original, taken by me, edited and posted there by me, and not from a google image search. It is the setup my father has and has been working on for years. He is extremely satisfied with it, the music sounds fantastic when he plays anything, it's not over colored, almost life like, but he is always making changes, upgrades, adding and removing units and features.
Everything you see probably can not all be bought in stores as is. It has been either customized, upgraded, created for the sole purpose of my parent's enjoyment. All if the speaker boxes you see (the front, center and subs) were all custom made and built by him. The only part he didn't do was stain and treat the 1" thick press wood.
The main front speakers are copies of Wilson Audio's line of Watt Puppy. The main woofers are in a separate box from the tweeter and mid woofer, allowing for a more dynamic range. In the middle, on top of the Center speaker, blow the projector screen, you can see the electronic cross over, plugged to his PC, so he can make changes and play with his audio settings any time he wants. Each woofer has it's own plugs in the back of the box so he can give each one it's own power. If you look at the equipment you can see the Bryston SST amplifier powering the two woofers, and there are 2 other amps in the lower middle powering the tweeter and mid woofer, making his setup a 3-way system.
The two Subs are 12" units, about 500-600watts each, in my oppinion, a little over kill but it really rocks when we watch a movie, or play any music, the bass isn't booming, but clean, controled and details.

In the custom made media stand that he had cut to his specific design, you can see the Integra DTC-9.8 Pre Amp on the top left, with his custom made Center channel with the electronic cross over on top. To the right, there is the 2 channel Bryston amp for the front speakers, and if we go to the lower left, there is another Byston 5 channel amp for the surround sound speakers and in the middle 2 more 2 channel amps for the front. On the lower right, you can see the Bell ExpressVu HD-PVR, but that section changes the most, i think that's a HD-DVD...
Head over to his personnal website to view more pictures of previous setups he's had.
