Chris Angelini at Tom's Hardware has posted a follow up article to his original HTPC post with a beta of Windows7. His first post was popular with many questions that he created this article as a follow up.
Chris used AMD's Maui platfrom as his HTPC, this is some serious HTPC hardware, one of the first to truely be made for HTPC use, and not just a computer in a small case. Look at some of the features it has! SilentPCreview has a good review about it here, and you can always read Chris' first article for the HTPC, where he used the Maui.
For sure, you can get a DVR, or a Playstation3 that can do the same features, and i wouldn't be surprised if they're less, but come on, what's the fun in that? Ask any DIYer, there is no fun, you buy it, and forget it!
Also noted on the third page, the Maui does not do HD sounds yet, but you can get true lossless sound now from the Asus Xonar sound card... HTPCs are going high end ppl!
- You can see some more pictures and a video here for AMD's Maui over at Hot Hardware.
